Close the lid.
Your Mac keeps going.
A tiny app that lives in your notch and keeps your MacBook awake — even with the lid shut. Downloads finish, renders render, music keeps playing.
Lid closed. Work still running.
Three moves. No settings to learn.
Hover the notch
CloseTheLid hides in the notch. Point at it and it opens. Move away and it folds back.
Pick how long
A timer, until a set time, or infinite. Add 15 minutes anytime.
Close the lid
When it says “Ready to close the lid”, shut it and walk away. Your Mac keeps working.
Awake, never reckless.
Charger by default
Closed-lid mode only runs while plugged in, unless you say otherwise.
Stops on low battery
Pick a cutoff. When the battery reaches it, the session ends on its own.
Backs off when hot
If macOS reports the Mac is running too hot, closed-lid mode switches off.
Sleep always comes back
If the app quits or crashes, your Mac gets its normal sleep back automatically.
No account, no tracking
Everything runs on your Mac. Nothing to sign up for, nothing sent anywhere.
English, Português, Español
Switch language anytime, right inside the app.

Good questions.
Does it really work with the lid closed, without an external display?
Yes. Normally a MacBook sleeps the moment the lid closes unless a monitor is attached. CloseTheLid flips the system setting that prevents that for as long as your session runs, then puts it back.
Why does it ask for a permission?
Keeping a closed Mac awake needs a small system helper. macOS asks you once to allow it under Login Items → “Allow in the Background”. The app walks you through it.
Is it bad for my Mac?
It's built to be careful: charger required by default, automatic stop on low battery or high temperature, and normal sleep returns the moment a session ends. Avoid closing it inside a bag while it runs.
Which Macs are supported?
Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel. On Macs without a notch, it lives at the top-centre of the screen and in the menu bar.
